SpaceXAI Expands Grok Voice Capabilities With 21 New Voices for Developers

Microsoft Partners with Elon Musk's xAI to Introduce Grok 4 to Azure AI Foundry

SpaceXAI has significantly expanded the voice capabilities of its Grok platform by introducing 21 new flagship voices on the xAI Console, increasing the total number of available voices from 5 to 26. And it is not just about quantity, SpaceXAI has retrained the original voices to sound more natural and expressive.

This update is all about helping developers build voice driven apps for industries like customer support, education, advertising, podcasts, and AI assistants. Along with expanding their voice library, SpaceXAI has added better speech controls, multilingual support, and new developer tools through its Real time Voice Agent API, Text to Speech API, and Grok Voice Agent Builder. The whole idea is to make Grok a stronger platform for conversational AI.

With this launch, SpaceXAI brings 21 new flagship voices to the xAI Console, pushing the total up to 26. The updated line up includes names like Carina, Zagan, Helix, Orion, Luna, Iris, Altair, Zenith, Perseus, Helios, Lux, Kepler, Rigel, Cosmo, Celeste, Ursa, Sirius, Lumen, Castor, Naksh, and Atlas.

The company has also refreshed its existing lineup by retraining the original 5 voices, which were, Ara, Eve, Leo, Rex, and Sal. Now they sound more natural, with better pacing and phrasing, so conversations feel more expressive.

One big highlight is multilingual support. SpaceXAI says every flagship voice can handle over 25 languages. That means developers can reach more users, no need to build separate voice models for every language. The company has positioned the expanded voice library for a wide range of use cases, which include:

  • Customer support
  • AI assistants
  • Sales
  • Education
  • Advertising
  • Podcasts
  • Audiobooks
  • Narration
  • Commentary
  • Wellness
  • Character voices

There is more to this upgrade than new voices. SpaceXAI has added several features to make things easier for developers and more engaging for users. Everything is available through their Real time Voice Agent API, Text to Speech API, and the Grok Voice Agent Builder, letting developers create voice agents, and no coding will be needed.

The broader voice platform also includes several advanced features aimed at building interactive voice applications. These include:

  • WebSocket streaming for real time conversations
  • Voice activity detection
  • Function calling
  • Web search integration
  • X search integration
  • File search
  • MCP support
  • Pronunciation replacements
  • Adjustable speaking speed
  • Expressive speech controls

These expressive controls let developers add more realistic touches such as pauses, whispers, laughter, breathing, singing, plus tweaking pitch and volume. That way, AI conversations feel more like talking to a real person.

SpaceXAI has also shared pricing information for developers using the platform. Using the Grok Voice Agent Builder costs $0.05 per minute for audio with voice. Connecting a phone number for telephony costs an extra $0.01 per minute.

The update reflects an expansion of Grok’s voice ecosystem by combining a larger voice catalog with upgraded speech quality, multilingual support, and developer tools. Rather than focusing only on increasing the number of available voices, the rollout also focuses on improvements in usability and customization through APIs and no-code tools designed for production deployments.

With the addition of 21 new flagship voices, the retraining of its original 5 voices, and support for 25+ languages, SpaceXAI has considerably expanded the capabilities of Grok’s voice platform. The update also brings a wider range of developer tools and expressive voice features, all available through multiple APIs and the no-code Grok Voice Agent Builder. Now, the platform can handle everything from customer support and education to media and conversational AI, with clear pricing at $0.05 per minute for voice agents and $0.01 per minute for telephony integration.
