Claude AI is down today for many, Anthropic confirms massive outage

Anthropic’s AI chatbot Claude experienced a widespread outage on Monday, March 2, 2026. Over on Downdetector, users reported a spike in error rates yesterday morning. Many users complained about seeing HTTP 500 and 529 errors, login loops, slow responses, and complete denial of service when trying to interact with Claude’s web and mobile app. However, Anthropic restore the issue later yesterday.

However, it seems the issue related to Claude is far from over. Earlier in the morning today, we spotted that Anthropic has confirmed yet another issue related to Claude AI on its status page. This time, Anthropic acknowledged elevated error rates on claude.ai, cowork, platform, and Claude Code.

In an update dated March 3, 2026, 04:43 UTC, Anthropic has confirmed that it’s investigating the issue. As of now, there is no resolution timeline confirmed by the company. On Downdetector, over 2,000 users have reported issues with claude.ai.
