Claude Now Let’s You Work From Any Device Using Cowork and Dispatch Features

Claude Cowork for mobile and web
Times of AI

Anthropic has extended its Agentic AI experience by adding Claude Cowork to both mobile and web platforms. It now allows users to begin, monitor, and tackle lengthy tasks across devices. The update allows Cowork beyond its desktop origins, allowing Claude to continue working in the background while users oscillate back and forth between meetings or devices. The rollout began with Max subscribers and is expected to expand to additional paid plans in the upcoming time, making the next segment in Anthropic’s vision for artificial intelligence-powered workplace automation.

What Is Changed With Claude Cowork?

Anthropic unveiled Claude Cowork on mobile and web, making it feasible for users to avail ongoing artificial intelligence tasks from any device. Previously confined to desktop, CoWork now manages sessions, projects, analysis files across platforms, allowing work to continue on a phone and web. The update also allows Claude to keep working in the background even after a user shuts down their laptop. Planned tasks can continue without a device to remain online, allowing Claude to update documents, emails, calendars, web content, and relevant tools until a task is completed.

If Claude arrives at a decision requiring user approval, it sends a notification to the user’s phone before proceeding, ensuring that the end word remains under human oversight. Anthropic has also merged Chat and Cowork into one experience on desktop and web, with projects and generated artifacts integrated across both ecosystems.

Claude Cowork was launched by Anthropic as a macOS-only research preview on January 12, 2026. The release focused on Macs powered by Apple Silicon processors and used Apple’s native virtualization framework to build a secure local sandbox ecosystem for file-handling AI agents. The organization later extended Claude Pro Work to Windows through the Claude desktop application, bringing the platform to feature parity with the Mac version.

With the newest declaration, Anthropic expanded Claude Cowork beyond desktop altogether by launching mobile and web access, letting users to work with artificial intelligence workflows regardless of the device they’re using. This development depicts Anthropic’s comprehensive effort to build Pro Work from an experimental feature into an integrated platform artificial intelligence workspace created for contextual work.

Who Can Access Claude’s New Cowork Mechanism?

The deployment starts with Max subscribers who will receive beta access over the coming weeks. Anthropic said that feasibility will subsequently expand to Pro, Team, and Enterprise plans, while free-tier users will not have access to Claude CoWork during this launch. Users can deploy CoWork directly from the Claude home screen on the web or access it through the sidebar in the Claude mobile app for iOS and Android. Anthropic mentions that the desktop application remains the most complete Cowork experience, as it can acquire local files and look for browser-based workflows. To boost adoption, the organization is also expanding its doubled CoWork usage limits through August 5, giving feasible users extra capacity for lengthier tasks.

As per Anthropic,Claude Cowork for mobile and web real-time usage data shows that more than 90% of Claude Cowork activity does not resemble software development. Instead, users depend on the artificial intelligence agent for corporate operations and content creation. It includes reconciling financial spending, arranging contracts, creating client presentations, and assessing business documents. Rather than functioning as a coding assistant alone, Cowork is created to automate what Anthropic calls the work around the work.

This means the repetitive operational tasks that take up a massive portion of professional time but do not appear in job descriptions. By expanding Cowork across mobile, web, Windows, and macOS, Anthropic aims to make this AI-assisted workflow consistent, allowing users to bifurcate tasks that continue running even when they’re away from the desk or the devices are shut down.

Anthropic’s newest development, Claude Cowork, launches on mobile and web to become a cross-platform artificial intelligence workspace. After a rollout on Apple Silicon Macs, extending to Windows, and now on mobile and web, the mechanism is evolving as a consistent artificial intelligence capable of continuing work in the background. With the deployment initially targeting Mac subscribers before extending to other paid tiers, Anthropic places it as a productivity mechanism for perennial multi-device knowledge work rather than AI conversation.
