Midjourney Unveils Image Editing & Retexturing Features for Users

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to take over the basic tasks so that humans can have their share of rest and fun. The most recent teaser comes from Midjourney. It has introduced two new features of Midjourney Editor that aim to enhance images while making the process more fun and seamless for users. Two features teased by Midjourney are editing and retexturing. They can be combined with other advanced features, such as style references, personalization models, and character references.

Before using Midjourney Editor, users must upload the image to their computer. The basic functions integrated into it are crop, repaint, and modification. For instance, the introductory video demonstrates how to style a dog wearing a party hat for his birthday. To modify the image, users must merely select the area and navigate to the toolbox. It instantly appears on the screen rather than taking minutes to put up that display.

There are limitations to it, but none of them are expected to impede its progress. Users with membership for at least 12 months and a minimum of 10,000 images can give these new features a shot. Users with yearly membership are also eligible.

Some of the file formats that Midjourney Editor supports are JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIF, PSD, RAW, and WEBP. Needless to say, Midjourney is working on new features and will make necessary improvements based on feedback it receives from eligible users. It does showcase the extent to which companies are going when it comes to integrating AI into their software, or applications.

Android devices are testing some of the changes too, but most of them date back to earlier times. This includes removing unnecessary objects from an image and enhancing lighting and color conditions automatically based on the image’s mood. What companies like Midjourney are doing is building on this foundation to independently deliver a package to its users, which can make it more seamless and enjoyable in terms of engagement.

Midjourney further demonstrated how to modify the entire look of a common room in a house. It enhanced color settings and brought a different look altogether. More examples include shaded sketches, scenes, and untextured 3D models. Other examples demonstrate how to add colors or objects to an image without ruining its original stance.

Moving forward, Midjourney plans to gradually include more editing modes. The objective is to ease the community and moderators into the adjustment so they are not overwhelmed or overworked.

Image editing and re-texturing for Midjourney Editor comes a month after the launch of personalized Niji models. Users were required to rank approximately 200 images in order to enable the personalization of the model.

Midjourney has worked on its AI moderator as well. It monitors inappropriate or abusive content, and its second version could soon surpass it. It would have a more intelligent system in place to interpret prompts and images.
