Canon India has officially launched the next-gen line of multi-function devices (aka MFDs) called imageFORCE C5100 color series and 6100 mono series. The company says the new devices are designed to keep up with the ever-evolving connected workplaces, where demands are roaring as the day passes by. Before we move forward, it’s important to note that these MFDs are built around four pillars: Security, Reliability, Connectivity, and Sustainability. The company is keeping up with the AI trend and has integrated the tech to make workflow automation seamless than ever.
What’s so special about Canon’s imageFORCE lineup
The imageFORCE series offers AI-assisted intelligence, intuitive design, and powerful integration with cloud platforms. All combined, they ensure daily office tasks are faster, smarter, and more secure. According to Canon, both the C5100 (color) and 6100 models, will help trim manual steps and bring intelligence into printing, scanning, and management.
As noted by the company, each device comes with automation tools, built-in AI maintenance, and robust data protection features. Toshiaki Nomura, President & CEO of Canon India, says this new series has been launched at a time when “organizations are seeking smarter, connected, and secure solutions to boost productivity.” The imageFORCE series “learns user behaviours, anticipates needs, and ensures seamless operations,” he adds.
Nomura also sheds some light on how Canon is looking to find the right balance of productivity with sustainability. According to him, the new range of Canon devices not only minimizes waste but also supports longer device lifecycles through predictive servicing.
AI-assisted maintenance and performance that adapts to your workflow
One of the standout features of the imageFORCE series is the AI-assisted Smart Maintenance. When the device is connected to Canon’s cloud system, the device continuously analyses its own performance in real time. It understands how teams use it, and predicts the lifespan of key components, and schedules servicing before it breaks down.
The latest lineup also debuts Canon’s D² Exposure technology, which uses organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) for brilliant print clarity. As a result, you’ll see sharper text, richer blacks, and smoother gradients at resolutions up to 4,800 x 2,400 dpi.
C. Sukumaran, Senior Director, Products & Communication, Canon India, says that the new imageFORCE C5100 and 6100 models “reflect Canon’s commitment to intelligent print solutions.” He added that these devices “empower businesses with greater reliability, security, and automation while helping them reach their sustainability goals.”
Security built into every layer
AI automation shouldn’t come at the cost of weak security measures, right? Well, Canon has done its part in that front too. The new MFDs come with malware protection, activity logs, and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) compatibility. Simply put, companies shouldn’t be hesitant to integrate these printers into their existing security monitoring tools for real-time threat detection and analytics.
If your companies work around a highly secured environment, there’s also options like secure print and user authentication. In other words, you shouldn’t worry about confidential documents landing in the wrong hands.
Hassle-free cloud integration
The team behind Canon knows that the working culture around the world is hybrid these days. This is why the imageFORCE series comes with different cloud services. Additionally, Canon’s Cloud Connector add-on offers access to third-party platforms, allowing you to directly upload or print from your preferred cloud storage.
If that’s not enough, mobile printing is equally hassle-free, all thanks to Canon PRINT and other supported mobile apps. You can print directly from smartphones or tablets, while the MFD’s built-in document management features take care of the rest of the process. automatically handle routing, archiving, and sharing.
