ThoughtWorks and AI Singapore Partner to Enhance AI Reliability

SINGAPORE 4 October 2024 – In a recent announcement regarding AI technologies, Thoughtworks and AI Singapore (AISG) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which seeks to enhance the assurances regarding the safe utilization of these systems and increase the rate of their implementation.

The agreement proposes measures that are capable of addressing the concerns associated with the limitations of AI technologies through better design, ethics, and sustainability.

The work will include endorsement of AI solutions that are clear and effective contesting the technical and ethical issues.

“Thoughtworks is thrilled to partner with AI Singapore, the national AI program, with an impressive body of work towards developing innovative and differentiated AI solutions that will grow businesses across various sectors and society-at-large,”

said Shayan Mohanty, head of AI research at Thoughtworks.

“This collaboration will enable us to leverage each other’s strengths, tap into Singapore’s deep national capabilities in AI and Thoughtworks’ 30+ years at the forefront of innovation, integrating the best of software and data engineering to drive AI for the greater public good for Singapore and the region.” 

AISG echoed this sentiment, stating that the partnership aligns with its mission to foster reliable and trustworthy AI applications.

“At AI Singapore, we are dedicated to anchoring deep national capabilities, creating social and economic impact, nurturing local talent and fostering a vibrant AI ecosystem. This commitment opens up valuable opportunities for companies to collaborate in shaping the future of AI innovation,”

said Dr Leslie Teo, senior director of AI Products at AI Singapore.

“Our partnership with Thoughtworks, a pioneer in AI-enabled software and data engineering, is a significant step in enhancing our joint research and training initiatives, as well as promoting collaborative knowledge and infrastructure exchange. Together, we are equipping tech innovators with the essential skills, tools, and best practices to transform AI pilots into impactful solutions, driving growth and delivering business value.”

AI has gained traction in more processes, posing a threat to bias in the AI ecosystem, hence the partnership between ThoughtWorks and AI Singapore is coming at the right time. Additional information concerning particular projects is expected to be provided in the coming weeks.

The MOU is a clear landmark towards realization of an advanced level of confidence in AI’s ability to undertake critical tasks such as decision-making in fields like healthcare and finance.
