New Adobe Research Reveals Alarming AI Risks for Creators

October 8, 2024, San Jose, California – In a New Research published today by Adobe, the creators’ journey in the evolving landscape of generative AI is rather intricate.

The overwhelming majority of the surveyed creative professionals, no less than 90% of them, believe that these tools can be beneficial in a way that will save time and enhance the coming-up with ideas stage of projects.

Most practitioners who were interviewed expressed reservations about the way the tools might be misused. A leading graphic designer interviewed stressed the fact that generative AI has great hope in generating models that can enhance the generation of entirely new concepts.

Still, more than half of the respondents, precisely 56% express fear that their own works are going to be used for the purposes of developing AI without seeking their approval.

More transparency is being demanded from the solution provider. One of the artists who responded to the survey said that tracker and other relevant tools would cure whatever attribution problems creators encounter, a view shared by ninety-one percent of the anchored survey participants.

Accordingly, 74 percent of those polled were in favor of government measures aimed to secure the rights of the creators within a setting that they believe includes insufficient protective measures.

Adobe reassured creators that its AI tools, like Firefly, are trained only on content for which they have permission, highlighting the company’s commitment to protecting creator rights.

As the creative community continues to embrace generative AI, the call for clearer regulations and tools to safeguard creative work becomes increasingly urgent.
