If you are into AI video generation, Adobe Firefly should be no stranger to you. But if you’ve been wanting the company to refine the video generation tool even further, the good news is that it has just happened. Earlier today, Adobe announced a new batch of updates, and they focus on precision edits, better camera control, and faster workflows, all while opening the door to unlimited AI generations for a limited time.
Adobe updates Firefly with bunch of useful AI video features
Thanks to the latest Firefly update, you’ll be able to fix small issues in AI-generated videos without requiring you to regenerate them from scratch. Previously, creators often criticized that reworking on a clip consumes more time which disrupts their workflow. From now on, that issue will be a thing from the past. Adobe has achieved that capabikity using Firefly’s new Prompt to Edit controls feature. Rather than starting over, you can simply, prompt firely to make selective edits.
For example, if you want remove an object from the frame, swap out a background, or adjust lighting, Firefly now applies those edits directly to the existing video. Adobe says the feature is designed to help creators preserve their “one good take” instead of chasing it repeatedly.
Meanwhile, camera movement is also another feature that’s getting a much-needed upgrade. With Firefly’s Video Model, you can now upload a reference video that shows the camera motion you want to replicate. Firefly then recreates the movement while keeping the scene grounded. It’s a small change on paper, but one that could make AI-generated footage feel far more intentional.

Topaz Astra video upscaling
Adobe is also expanding Firefly Boards with Topaz Astra for video upscaling. The new option allows creators to enhance low-resolution footage up to 1080p or 4K. Older clips, archival material, or compressed videos can now be restored and reused without leaving the Firefly workflow. Meanwhile, upscaling runs in the background so you can work on other projects while AI does its job.
As far as images are concerned, Adobe has added FLUX.2 from Black Forest Labs. The model focuses on photorealism, stronger text rendering, and multi-reference image support. It’s now available across Firefly tools, Photoshop’s Generative Fill, and will expand to Adobe Express next month.
The update also launches the public beta of Firefly video editor. That’s a browser-based editing space designed to give AI-generated clips a touch of finished stories. You can work with a traditional timeline or edit video by modifying text transcripts, which is especially useful for interviews and spoken content.

Unlimited video and image generation until January 15
Adobe is offering unlimited image and video generations across Firefly and partner models until January 15 for eligible plans. That includes Firefly’s own commercially safe models and third-party options. Firefly is no longer just about generating content. With these updates, Adobe is positioning it as a full creative pipeline, from first idea to final export.
