Gemini’s Personalized Deep Research Now Available To All Users

Gemini Personalized Deep Research

Google has brought support for personalized Deep Research to all users of Gemini. It allows users to connect their Google account to Gemini and access information from Drive, Gmail, and other services to get personalized responses directly in the chatbot. The feature was previously available only to Workspace users, but now has been expanded to all regular users on Android and iOS.

Deep Research With A Personal Touch

A couple of weeks back, Google introduced its personalized Deep Research feature in Gemini on desktop, allowing users to connect their Drive and Gmail to Gemini. It enabled the chatbot to fetch information from emails, attachments, documents, and other files associated with the account to generate context-aware responses.

For example, if you an accountant with multiple excel sheets saved on your emails, you can a run a prompt like “Find out the profit done by ABC company in Q2 2025”, and Gemini will automatically collect the relevant data and frame further responses. It can also combine this information from other sources on the web under the Deep Research option, allowing you to compare and generate in-depth reports.

The same feature is now available on the Gemini app for Android and iOS. Users can access it unde Gemini > Deep Research > Sources > and choose from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and Search. However, the limits of the Deep Research depend on the tier. Paid subscribers of Gemini have access to longer and in-depth conversations, while free users may run out of their daily quota faster.

Gemini’s Rivalry With Claude

While the competition in the AI space involves comparison mainly between Gemini and ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude is slowly and steadily evolving as a strong rival. Claude recently introuced Excel integration, allowing users to access Claude’s advanced Sonnet and Haiku models directly in spreadsheets. The integration was also made available in Word, Powerpoint, and other Office 365 apps.

Although Google already offers Gemini integration in its in-house Sheets, Docs, Slides, and other services, it is not enough to rival Microsoft’s Office given its deep applications across the corporate and enterprise sectors. Hence, Google has been exploring ways to tackle both OpenAI and Anthropic, and the new personalized Deep Research fearure looks like an excellent move to bind Gemini with its flagship-grade Gmail and Drive services.

Google also recently inked a deal with Apple to offer its Gemini AI services for Apple Intelligence. It shows how the company is expanding its AI offerings across sectors. The IT giant is also reportedly working to release its much awaited Gemini 3 model, but no official details are available at the moment.
